Liz Cheney dives into Ohio's Issue 2 fight with anti-worker mailings

Polls have shown the margin by which Ohio voters say they want to vote no on Issue 2 and repeal SB 5, the law rolling back collective bargaining rights for public workers, narrowing though still relatively healthy. It's narrowing in large part because, of course, Republican groups are pouring millions of dollars into deceptive advertising.

As The Nation's John Nichols details, pro-SB 5 groups will be massively outspending opponents of the measure, and there's a nightmarishly familiar name right in the thick of things:

Liz Cheney's Alliance for America's Future is one of the most aggressive of the out-of-state special interest groups that have elbowed their way into the referendum fight. [...]

Cheney's group began last month to flood Ohio with deceptive mailings that claim “voting yes on Issue 2 will give our communities the ability to get spending under control without raising taxes.”

Nowhere mentioned in Cheney's mailers, of course, is the fact that firefighters and police and nurses won't be able to bargain for safety equipment and safe staffing levels and teachers won't be able to bargain for smaller class sizes, and that Ohio's public workers are already underpaid.
