Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly (D. IN) in support of former Governor Ted Strickland’s (D. OH) U.S. Senate campaign:
Ted Strickland (D. OH)
I want to tell you about my friend Ted Strickland, who’s running for U.S. Senate in Ohio. Ted comes from a hardworking family. He’s lived the American Dream and has achieved great things in the face of adversity. More importantly, his career has been about helping others do the same.
It’s been more than four months since President Obama nominated Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court. Despite his strong record of experience and respect on both sides of the aisle, obstructionists in Washington have refused to even consider Garland's nomination. That's why we need Ted Strickland.
Why? Because Ted’s no obstructionist -- he knows how to get things done. He proved that when, as a congressman, he helped pass the Children’s Health Insurance Program. He proved it again when, as Governor, he made college more affordable by freezing tuition costs, and implemented reforms that made Ohio public schools among the best in the nation.
Ted Strickland is exactly the kind of person I need by my side in Washington to work for policies that will benefit all American families. But first, he needs to win his election.
