Received this e-mail today U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D. OH) in support of former Governor Ted Strickland’s (D. OH) U.S. Senate campaign:
Ted Strickland (D. OH)
The Koch network and most other special interest groups aren’t focusing on the presidential race this year. Instead, they’ve set their sights on buying the United States Senate.
According to CNN, this special interest strategy “is paving the way for a torrent of spending on behalf of Republican Senate candidates, with national Republican groups poised to cross $155 million in general election advertising.”
Winning in Ohio is a top goal for the special interests. They want to beat my friend TedStrickland with their attacks. Ted has been beating them back for over a year.
They tried it back in 2012 when they spent $40 million against me, and we beat them. Our organization is second to none -- and we have to keep it that way.
Thank you.
Sherrod
