Received this e-mail today from former Governor Ted Strickland’s (D. OH) U.S. Senate campaign:
Ted Strickland (D. OH)
Across Ohio, and across the nation, Planned Parenthood provides vital, life-saving health care services for women and families. They help ensure the health and economic security of some of Ohio’s most vulnerable families. I have always believed a woman’s health care decisions should be between her and her doctor, no one else. And I’ve fought to protect Planned Parenthood from political attacks every step of the way.
I couldn’t be happier to have Cecile Richards of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund here in Ohio to support me today! She understands that when it comes to economic and health security for women, Rob Portman's record is a disaster. Portman voted against the Paycheck Fairness Act five times. He co-sponsored a law that would let bosses decide whether or not to cover contraception for employees, inserting themselves into a decision that should be between a woman and her doctor. We deserve a government that fights for women and working families, not against them.
While Senator Portman is pushing the agenda of the wealthy and well-connected, I want to fight for Ohio’s working families – that’s where I’m from, that’s who I care about and that’s who I’ll always put first. And that's why I released a bold plan this week outlining my priorities for women and working families, and our campaign launched a grassroots coalition we’re calling Women for Ted.
