And so Bernie must go on

Well I was wrong as to my prediction of yesterdays elections.  I was still right that Bernie would win his demographics, he got over 80% of the 18 — 30 age group.  He even got the same percentage of the black vote 25 — 30, that he got in Michigan.  This in the states out side of the south, Florida is the last two state in which Hillary is going to get over 60%.  He even got the majority of the Hispanic vote, 50 to 49 in Illinois, Ohio and Missouri did not report Hispanic percentage.  This is according to CNN exit polls.  But for some reason the youth vote did not turn out in the numbers that he is used to, in both Illinois and Ohio he got substantially fewer 18 — 50 voter than he did in his other states.   In Ohio on 46% of the vote was 18 — 50 and in Illinois it was 48%, in Michigan it was 53%. and in New Hampshire it was 50%.

Now can he still win the nomination, yes of course he can but he would need to get over 55% of the remaining delegates closer to 57% which is of course disheartening because so much can go wrong like what happened in Ohio.  I still hold that the road ahead is very rocky for Hillary I do not see her wining any state in the range that you saw in the south, over 70% or even over 60% and unless you have a depressed youth vote you wont even see another Ohio, but that being said all she would have to do is keep him close to 50% in the big states New York, Pennsylvanian and California and she could win the nomination which would be  in my opinion a complete tragedy.  What we need today is not another place holder that will proudly wear the badge of being the first of something and then sit on their laurels and do next to nothing.  What we need is someone that will institute fundamental change in our society.  In a society where the middle class is being destroyed.  where a small plutocracy enjoy the benefits of their political machinations and the poor keep being marginalized and demonized.  We do not need any more gradual incrementalism.

While George Washington Carver and Booker T Washington were fine men who had the best intentions for their people it was not until people like martin Luther King came and said that they had enough and demanded immediate change did we get a more just and fairer society.  Which is exactly what we need today.  And in my opinion Bernie is the person to deliver that change.  Hillary is just such a flawed individual.  Bill Maher on his show two weeks ago, when he hosted Sarah Silverman, said that if trends hold to what they where america would have one party nominating a politician with the worst popularity rating ever (Trump) and the other party would nominate a politician with the second lowest popularity rating (Clinton).  Would I vote for her of course I would, what other alternative do we have?  Anything is better than a Trump or Cruz presidency.  But that would just give us another 4 wasted years which could be used to change country for the better.

So what is the path ahead for me and others who truly believe that Bernie is the answer for Americas problems?  Continue the fight, the next eight elections leading up to New York’s should be Bernie blowouts.  6 are caucus with almost no African-American population, Arizona has the largest percentage with 4.6%.  These states should vote in line with others that Bernie has won, Kansas, Colorado, Maine, etc.  But we need to get votes more in line with Kansas and Maine 65%+ than Nebraska 57%.   Still this would net between 70 to 85 delegates bringing her total to 230+.  Then if I was Sen. Bernie Sanders I would be concentrating all of my energy on the New York primary.  He needs a 60% here with that he would get a momentum going behind his candidacy that would give him the nomination.

What most people that support Hillary do not get is that Sen. Bernie Sanders is a movement not just a candidate and that the majority of Americans are feed up with the status quo that is represented by candidates like Sen. Clinton, Gov. Bush or Sen. Rubio.   That is Why Bernie sympathizes with people that support Donald Trump, although he correctly calls their sympathies misguided.  People do not want another consummate politician in the White House they want real change.  that is why Bernie is a do or die movement, with terrible consequences for failure.  And so we must fight on.
