Just a few weeks numerous members of the Romney campaign were bragging that they would "win big" in Michigan. The story gives a number of damning quotes. If we look beyond the current numbers in light of recent history, we might still conclude that Willard is more likely than not to win Michigan since Mitt may be able to bring down Rick's numbers through negative advertising and voting does not start until the end of this month. However, Santorum's credibility as a consistent conservative and a sane person is much stronger than Newt's. So, he may be harder to bring down. Moreover, Rick's new ad may help to inoculate Rick from Willard's attacks.
