You can't make this up. Not-Joe the non-plumber is going to run for Congress against Marcy Kaptur (D) in the ninth district of Ohio.

T. Blade: Jon Stainbrook, chairman of the Lucas County Republican Party, said there is "high-level interest in the national Republican Party" in a potential Wurzelbacher candidacy.

"We are encouraging Joe to run," Mr. Stainbrook said. "He hasn't made any official decision yet."

Toledo Blade via Political Wire.

One GOP source put the chances of Mr. Wurzelbacher running against Miss Kaptur at "90 percent."

Miss Kaptur (D., Toledo) has represented Ohio's 9th congressional district since 1983. She won with 59 percent of the vote in 2010 and her district voted heavily in favor of President Obama in 2008, but congressional redistricting later this year could shake up the district's political demographics.

It has come to this. A man who is most famous for his complete misunderstanding of economics, for not being a plumber, for worrying about tax rates on incomes over $250,000 when his own income is less than a fifth of that - think he should run for Congress.

And the national Republican Party is eager to see this man run. It's not about governing, it's about winning, and knowing anything about anything is not essential or even desirable. The anti-knowledge party continues to be anti-knowledge.

Some Republicans feel Mr. Wurzelbacher could give Miss Kaptur one of the strongest challenges she has faced in recent years.

"He would make a fantastic candidate," Mr. Stainbrook said. "He goes hunting with Sarah Palin. He's friends with Ann Coulter. He's got the ability to raise the money if he makes a decision to jump into the race."

Oh, there you go. Sarah Palin and Ann Coulter, two of the most notably insane people in American politics. That's nJtnp's bonafides. Lovely.
