This is not snark! According to the Daily Caller, Rep. Dennis Kucinich, (D, OH-10) is considering seeking reelection not in Ohio but rather in Washington state's new 10th Congressional district. Ohio, of course, is dropping from 18 to 16 House seats effective in 2012. Republicans control the Ohio redistricting process and Kucinich is expected to face a tough primary against another incumbent, probably Rep. Betty Sutton.
According to Kucinich’s communications director Nathan White, “After people found out that Congressman Kucinich’s district could be eliminated or substantially altered in congressional redistricting by the Ohio Legislature’s Republican majority, Congressman Kucinich received requests from people in twenty states, including Washington State, encouraging him to move and run in their area.”White said that Kucinich plans to return to Congress, but hasn’t decided which district to run in.
Surely Kucinich isn't serious about this. Even aside from the carpetbagging issue, I can't imagine that Kucinich's hard-core anti-trade stance will play well in Washington, the most export-dependent state in the country.
