Ouch.
Two months into his tenure, Kasich is running into precisely the same problems as Michigan governor Rick Snyder and Wisconsin governor Scott Walker. He's overreached dramatically, particularly with respect to collective bargaining, and his numbers are already in the toilet as a result.
It's fairly clear that if he had to stand for reelection today, Kasich would be wiped out. Fortunately for him, he has three and a half years to make amends. But in the meantime, his unpopularity is a boon to Democrats in Ohio, and to the 2012 reelection bids of Senator Sherrod Brown and President Barack Obama.
