Part 5 of my series looked at John Kasich's overthrow of the State Board of Education, purging both Republican and Democratic moderates, and politicizing a formerly non-political state organization which, by design was supposed to be insulated from the day to day political mechanizations of the governor and legislature. In addition to throwing out the board President, a Republcian, he also in recent weeks moved to remove a Strickland appointee on a technicality, put a Tea Party crazy on the board, and forced the state Superintendent to resign, likely to be replaced by someone with a political agenda to weaken public education in Ohio, which is in contravention of the constitution.
This is another day, and another Kasich outrage is the order of the day.
Mr. Kasich delivered his budget last week, and it will take some time to uncover the smoke and mirrors nature of this document, which by design obsfucates, fudges, lacks analysis and appears intended to deceive the legislature, the press and the public.
What has emerged in the few days since its introduction, is a sense of John Kasich's priorities, who he will benefit, and who will suffer as a result of this so-called economic, plan, which it is now claimed, has been in development between Kasich, his budget director and his political team since 2008.
More below the fold.
