Talk about throwing out the baby with the bath water.

I find it rather depressing that this needs to be addressed at all, but it happens an awful lot around here...I find myself having to point out what should be obvious, over and over again. This diary isn't going to solve that, but it's time for a rant.

So. Kasich won in Ohio.
And I have just about had it with "well, you're stuck with him" or "people in Ohio are stupid" or other (endless) variants of the above.

Kasich barely won here. Strickland took way too long to try to define his opposition. The Democrats in general can't seem to run an inspired campaign. Turn out is always low in non-presidential elections and the other side was a lot more inspired. There are probably bad, stupid elected officials in your state too - maybe even some of them are Republicans. What happens in one part of the country effects everyone else - even if you live in a deep blue enclave. And no, I can't "just move". My life is here - and where you live is probably a lot more expensive. We are all in this together. Shall I go on?

Think about what you say before you say it. It is BEYOND DEMORALIZING when people on your own side seem to want to leave you for dead.

And if you somehow think that none of this is going to happen where you live, you haven't been paying attention.
