When fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying the cross. Sinclair Lewis, 1935

I am tired of seeing stories of anti-Muslim attacks. It seems to be escalating in the last few days.
This video from Orange County hate demo where few hundred people gather with elected politicians calling for the removal, even assassinations of Muslims openly.
On February 13, members of a faith-based charitable organization gathered in Yorba Linda, California to raise funds to support women’s shelters, help the homeless and combat hunger. This same organization is active in interfaith outreach. One of its leaders offered the opening prayers at the recent inauguration of the governor of Illinois, and it will be holding its annual banquet in Chicago this weekend, the theme of which is “Fighting Fear, Teaching Tolerance.”
You can understand why, then, on February 13, a handful of elected officials — specifically: Yorba City councilwoman Deborah Pauly, US Congressman Ed Royce, and US Congressman Gary Miller — joined a group of a few hundred protesters (shouting such things as “Go back home!” and “USA!” and, for good measure: “Fuck you!”), in order to declare the faith-based philanthropic event “pure, unadulterated evil.”
Oh wait. Perhaps that’s actually utterly incomprehensible — nay: batshit crazy.
On the same day via facebook, another video. A Muslim guy praying in front of the White house is being shouted at. "Jesus loves you" and having cross and other objects thrown at him while he is praying. I have no idea why the Muslim guy is in front of the white house praying. Maybe he was protesting, and as a Muslim, you have to pray when the time of prayer comes regardless of where you are. I don't pray myself. But I often see my relatives praying in public when we find ourselves in places that are not home or a Mosque... and I have never ever seen anybody shouting at them or disrespecting them. Some people look at them if it is in public places like the mall, tho my relatives usually go to the furthest corner to avoid people, people would look out of curiosity. But never anything like this. Gotta see to believe this.
They are the worst that this country has to offer. They are the dross of
our society, the black hearts and empty shells against which the
Framers sought to protect us in our founding documents. They are
ignorant, they are dangerous, they are a blight and a stain — and they
are, whether we like it or not, us.
The above quote is from the same blog I link above.
Then, again on the same day, I see via Twitter a video of Mona Eltahawy and two Tea Party members in front of of the Park 51.
The Tea party couple bring foam shoes with terms such as "Assimilate," "Where's Your Head?", "Are You Stoned?", and "Kalib" in front of Park51. They were expecting demonstrators to throw them while they catch it on video, but instead they were met with resistance by Egyptian-born writer and activist Mona Eltahawy.
All of these videos coming out would not be so alarming if it were not also at time when congress is debating policies introduced by Peter King.
As our new chairman of the House homeland security committee, I see that you have established congressional hearings on Muslim Americans to investigate the threat of homegrown terrorism, starting on 10 March. Just so I can rehearse, exactly how American would you like me to be? Can I just lip sync the Toby Keith lyrics at my hearing, or do I actually have to don the American flag as a bandana, too? After all, my family and I need to prepare for our big day in court.Since your hearings have been set up to demonstrate that Muslim Americans are, as you say, "uncooperative with authorities", might I direct you to the new study by the Triangle Centre on Terrorism and Homeland Security? It found that tips from Muslim Americans provided information that helped authorities thwart terrorist plots in 48 of 120 cases. The report further notes that: "Muslim Americans have been so concerned about extremists in their midst that they have turned in people who turned out to be undercover informants." Don't take my word for it, though. The director of the National Counterterrorism Centre, Michael Leiter, FBI Director Robert S Mueller III and US Attorney General Eric H Holder Jr have all praised the American Muslim community for playing an instrumental role in assisting law enforcement agencies. A little strange, then, that apparently, you won't be calling any law enforcement officials.
