Louisiana is postponing its presidential primary, but the four states with primaries scheduled for March 17 say they’re taking precautions but going ahead with voting. Election officials in Arizona, Florida, Illinois, and Ohio released a joint statement pledging that “we are working closely with our state health officials to ensure that our poll workers and voters can be confident that voting is safe.”
Maricopa County, Arizona, recorder Adrian Fontes announced Friday that he would be mailing ballots to voters who hadn’t yet requested vote by mail. That will allow people to simply drop off ballots on Tuesday, shortening their time in contact with others and avoiding contact with shared voting equipment.
