The William Howard Taft National Historic Site in Cincinnati is the boyhood home of President Taft. Perhaps one of our more obscure Presidents, Taft was unique in that after leaving the White House he was appointed as Chief Justice on the Supreme Court, making him the only American to ever head two branches of government.
Taft was born in this house in 1847 and lived here until he left to attend Yale in 1874.
