In a record-breaking quarterly FEC report, Democrat Janet Garrett reported raising nearly $100,000 more than Jim Jordan, the right-wing, Tea Party pick for Speaker of the House. The roughly $350,000 haul brings Garrett’s total contributions to six times more than any Democrat has ever raised against Jim Jordan.

The report has dramatically stirred the pot in a race once considered safely Republican. Even Nate Silver, of FiveThirtyEight, flagged the race.

This rating change and fundraising surge comes amid a massive digital media campaign rollout, where Garrett’s team has introduced a puppet of Jim Jordan after he refused to debate prior to the start of early vote.

The Jim Jordan puppet has been featured in a series of other videos. In the wake of the Kavanaugh hearing, the Garrett campaign also launched an ad that spins off the famous novel and recent Hulu television show The Handmaid’s Tale. The ad hammers Jordan for his positions on women’s issues and documents his voting record.

In total, the videos have generated over half a million views and tens of thousands of shares. In the home stretch, the campaign is keeping supporters mobilized and ready to pull off one of the biggest upsets of 2018 and retire Jim Jordan.
