Now I’ve been thinking about my message of getting money out of politics and I think I have come up with some simple steps we need to do to get that done.
We must get laws passed that do these five things.
1. Abolish corporate donations to politicians.
2. Abolish corporate lobbying.
3. Institute extremely strict campaign contribution limits.
4. Institute extremely strict limits on how much a campaign is allowed to raise.
5. Finally ensure that there are extremely harsh punishments to anyone who violates the previous four.
These are the absolute bare minimum of what we need to do if we want a government that serves the people that vote them in. Without these things we will always have a government that is more interested in lining their pockets than serving the people.
That is why once I’m in the State House I will do everything I possibly can to ensure these and other anti corruption laws are passed in the State House.
