Received this e-mail today from Rep. Tim Ryan (D. OH-13) in support of State Rep. Kathleen Clyde’s (D. OH) campaign for Ohio Secretary of State:

This morning, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in a 5-4 decision to UPHOLD Ohio Republicans' method of "purging" Americans from the state voter rolls.
The Wall Street Journal says the decision is "in favor of conservatives," and "could allow purge of more Democratic-leaning voters."
It's a victory for Ohio's Republican Secretary of State John Husted, who has tried every trick in the book to keep Democrats from voting.
Fortunately, we have an incredible Democratic candidate running for Secretary of State in Ohio: Voting rights champion Kathleen Clyde.
Electing Kathleen in November will be an enormous victory for those of us who believe in PROTECTING, not ATTACKING our sacred right to vote!
Ohio's Republican Secretary of State John Husted instituted a policy of removing names from the state voter rolls if they don't vote in two years and don't mail back a specific voter card.
Let's be clear: This policy does nothing for democracy -- all it does is keep more Americans from exercising their rights.
This policy deliberately penalizes young people, women, veterans, and working-class Ohioans who are more likely to change addresses or work long shifts that keep them from voting.
Now, other Republican-dominated states will see this as a "green light" to institute their own ridiculous "use it or lose it" voting laws.

Thanks so much,
-- Team Ryan
