Some good news today out of Ohio courtesy of PPP’s latest poll:

In the race for Ohio Secretary of State, Democratic state Rep. Kathleen Clyde is leading Republican state Sen. Frank LaRose 43 percent to 40 percent, according to a survey by Public Policy Polling conducted just before the primary election.

Kathleen Clyde has been fighting her whole career for voters’ rights and fair elections, and this survey confirms the enthusiasm we’re seeing on the ground,” said Ohio Democratic Party Chairman David Pepper. “Kathleen is eager to fix the culture of corruption in Columbus, bring fair districts to Ohio, protect voters’ fundamental freedoms and build a future where our elections are secure, every vote is counted and every voice is heard.”

According to the survey, Clyde leads against LaRose among a wide array of demographics including Democrats, African-Americans, other non-white races, women, independents and voters aged 18 to 65.

The Public Policy Polling survey of 770 Ohio voters was conducted April 25 and April 26 with a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.
