Much of my life has revolved around politics. These days, it’s easier than ever to get caught up in the day-to-day of it all, watching the news cycle bounce from one story to the next without stopping to look at the bigger picture.
But --we have to keep that bigger picture in mind.
We can yell at our TVs all we want, but the progress we’re fighting for in this election isn’t just about what’s going on every day in Washington, D.C. It’s about looking out for our fellow Americans, helping struggling families, and making sure hardworking people -- in Ohio and nationwide -- have the resources they need to succeed.That’s why it’s absolutely critical that we’re supporting leaders like Sherrod Brown, who are willing to work hard every single day to level the playing field.
We like to say that our country is a place where anyone can get ahead if they’re willing to work hard. But right now, we have an administration and leaders in Congress who are actively making it harder for middle-class Americans to succeed. They gave the wealthy a massive tax cut while proposing cuts to key programs like Medicaid and social security. It’s unacceptable.
But Sherrod stands up for all Ohioans, not just those at the top. He understands that larger vision, of why we need to make sure hardworking people have a fair shot to succeed.
