Received this e-mail today from former Consumer Financial Protection Bureau chief, Richard Cordray’s (D. OH) gubernatorial campaign:
Something incredible has happened over the last few months, Samuel.
Since the FCC voted to end net neutrality, a grassroots movement is growing to protect our fair and open web. All over the country, tens of thousands are making calls to the FCC, governors are writing executive orders to enforce net neutrality, and attorney generals are banding together to sue the FCC.
Guess which Attorney General wasn’t on the list standing up to the Trump administration’s FCC disaster: Mike DeWine.
Add your name right now and do what DeWine won’t: show your support for net neutrality in Ohio.
Look, an open and equal internet isn’t just how we check our email and read the news. It’s how we organize, communicate, and learn. If internet service providers are given the freedom to throttle or block websites that they just plain don’t agree with, well, that’s bad for Ohio.
We need elected officials who will stand up for consumers. That means protecting net neutrality.
If we win this November, I will sign an executive order that ensures net neutrality is protected for Ohio consumers. Mike DeWine won’t and it’s yet another reason we’ve got to stop him from getting anywhere near the governor’s office.
I hope you’ll do what DeWine won’t, and take a stand by adding your name to our petition today:
Thank you,
Rich
