OH-Sen: Sherrod Brown (D) Continues To Expose The GOP Tax Scam As One Big Giveaway To The Banks

President Trump and Republicans insisted their tax plan would help the middle class get ahead.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said otherwise. When they first reviewed the tax plan, the CBO concluded it would balloon the deficit, dramatically reduce the number of Americans with access to healthcare, and primarily benefit large corporations.

Not surprisingly, the CBO’s analysis was spot on. As a result of the law, the biggest banks netted $3.6 billion in a single quarter.

And middle-class families? They could see their taxes go up by 2023.

Republicans are trying to spin their tax scam -- but they aren’t fooling working families. This plan is for corporations and the wealthiest 1%. Add your name to let Republicans know you’ll hold them accountable in November.

I was an outspoken critic of Republicans’ tax plan from the beginning. If the GOP were serious about creating an economy where working families can thrive, they wouldn’t have showered 80% of the tax bills benefits on the top 1% of earners.

Polls show Americans see right through the GOP’s tax scam. Only 27% of Americans think the tax plan is a good idea.

As we get closer to November, Republicans are going to run more ads about their tax plan. They are going to throw out all sorts of misleading figures -- but the only number that matters is one.

The GOP tax plan is for the 1%. And we need leaders who are willing to help all Americans. Make sure you play a part in electing strong leaders this fall. Pledge to hold Republicans accountable at the polls.
