Received this e-mail today from former U.S. Senator Russ Feingold (D. WI) on behalf of his group, LegitPAC:

Friend,

With special interests pulling more strings than ever in Washington, we urgently need representatives who will carry on the fight for campaign finance reform that I championed when I was in Congress.

Andy Kim in New Jersey, Daniel Koh in Massachusetts, and Ken Harbaugh in Ohio are determined opponents of dark money who can help us restore a pro-legitimacy majority in Congress. But they’ll first have to overcome GOP opponents backed by ultra-wealthy donors pouring money in to defeat them.

If Legit supporters help these three candidates show a surge of grassroots support before the end-of-quarter financial disclosure deadline, they’ll be able to file strong numbers and prove themselves to undecided voters. But that deadline is coming up fast.

Support Andy Kim in NJ-03, Daniel Koh in MA-03, and Ken Harbaugh in OH-07. Contribute $4 before the end-of-quarter financial deadline.

Andy Kim is fighting for elections that represent the will of the American people. This New Jersey candidate has pledged not to accept a dime from corporate special interests, unlike his opponent, whose biggest backers so far include Goldman Sachs and the Koch Brothers. Andy Kim’s campaign pledge reflects his commitment to taking on dark money in politics.

Daniel Koh is a strong all-around progressive from the area northwest of Boston. Koh is running for the House on a platform of comprehensive campaign finance reform and expanding voting rights nationwide.

Ken Harbaugh is a Navy veteran and a founder of a worldwide disaster relief organization. The next challenge he wants to take on is dark money in our political system, so he’s pushing common-sense reforms like better campaign disclosure laws and public financing programs.

Andy, Daniel, and Ken would represent serious progress for campaign finance reform if they make it to Congress. But the momentum of their campaigns could hinge on the numbers they report after this upcoming end-of-quarter disclosure deadline.

Contribute $4 today and help support Andy Kim, Daniel Koh, and Ken Harbaugh so they can fight for our democratic legitimacy in Congress.

These three House candidates would be crucial champions for restoring integrity and legitimacy to our democracy. And they need our support right now.

Thank you for standing up for democratic legitimacy today,

Russ Feingold
