OH-Gov: Richard Cordray (D) Keeps Up The Fight To Stop The GOP From Making OH A Right-To-Work State

Received this e-mail today from former Consumer Financial Protection Bureau chairman, Richard Corday (D. OH), on behalf of his gubernatorial campaign:

Ohio has been fighting so called “right-to-work” measures for a long time. How long? The Ohio Chamber of Commerce put it on the ballot all the way back in 1958. Ohio voters rejected the measure by 63% of the vote.

In 2011, Ohio once again stopped anti-labor forces, this time voting overwhelmingly to repeal Senate Bill 5—a bill that seriously restricted the collective bargaining power of public sector unions.

The latest gambit is the most radical yet. Columbus Republicans are literally trying to change the constitution to bring right-to-work to Ohio.

We have to stop them, and we can if we stand united.

Add your name right now and join me in standing up against anti-labor forces in Ohio.

Betty and I have been on the front lines fighting with Ohio’s working men and women. They are our firefighters, teachers, and auto workers. They work at our restaurants, hospitals, and prisons.

They work hard for a living and deserve fair treatment and fair wages.

I’m honored to fight alongside them to stop right-to-work. And I’m even more honored to have the endorsement of both the Ohio AFL-CIO and the Ohio Federation of Teachers.

Right-to-work is wrong for Ohio. We’ve stopped it before, and if we keep standing together we will stop it again.

Sign on and join us in standing up for Ohio’s working men and women.

Thank you,

Rich
