According to the Gainesville Police Department, Tyler Tenbrink, 28, of Richmond, Texas, and bothers William Fears, 30, and Colton Fears, 28, both of Pasadena, Texas were arrested about 20 miles north of Gainesville in connection to a shooting after a speech by Richard Spencer at the University of Florida. All three men face charges for attempted homicide. Police say the three men stopped their vehicle to argue with a group of protesters after Spencer’s speech and began threatening, offering Nazi salutes and shouting “Heil Hitler.” When a protester struck their vehicle with a baton, the three men got out. Tenbrink drew a handgun. Tenbrink fired his weapon, missing the protester.
Richard “don’t call me Dick” Spencer is now having trouble renting spaces at flagship state universities, which has been the pattern of his pretense to “educate” academic communities on the viability of his “white” ethno-state proposals.
Having had another poor showing at the University of Florida, he’s now chosen to sue The Ohio State University, using the lawfare style of Westboro Baptist to sue for speech rights.
As if trying to set up one institution of the State to destroy others using the same Constitution will win in the long run.
The Ohio State University said Friday that they would not allow Georgia State University graduate student Cameron Padgett, who organizes tours for Spencer, to rent space on campus for an event with Spencer.
cribbing Francisco Franco quote, Kyle Bristow is the founder of a law firm dedicated to legal advocacy on behalf of a loose collection of white nationalists, white supremacists and anti-immigration populists called the alt-right.
“The university has deemed that it is not presently able to accommodate Mr. Padgett’s request to rent space at the university due to substantial risk to public safety, as well as material and substantial disruption to the work and discipline of the university,” a lawyer for Ohio State wrote in a letter to an attorney representing Spencer’s associates and obtained by The Guardian.
The same lawyer, Kyle Bristow, had similarly threatened to sue the University of Cincinnati if officials didn’t allow Spencer to speak there. Cincinnati officials eventually agreed to allow him to appear on campus.
