There was a post not too long ago about the difference between organizing and mobilizing. If I was better at posting and not on my phone, I'd find it and link. In any event, there are now actions to take if you are in Ohio. Georgia has gone and will go again. Montana’s turn is Thursday. But, we in the Buckeye State have a lot to do in the next 45 days.
The reason if you’ve missed it is that the preliminary petition to stop gerrymandering of Ohio congressional districts got approved. We now have to wait for the petition language to be approved and will only have until July 5 to collect over 305k valid signatures. Also the rules are such that signatures above a 5% threshold based on the last governor vote are needed in 44 of the 88 counties so this really is an all hands on deck mobilization effort.
If we fail, after the next census Democrats will likely just have 3 of 15 congressional seats even though the state is close to even.
If you are in Ohio, please consider how many signatures you can personally commit to obtaining and sign up here. I know in my rink a dink county alone we need 1,554 signatures to get it to the threshold to count as one of the 44.
