Received this e-mail today from Connie Pillich’s (D. OH) gubernatorial campaign:
Connie Pillich (D. OH)
We’ve all heard the saying about the two things in life that are certain, death and taxes. But, as we approach Tax Day, how certain are we that our tax dollars are being spent appropriately?
TheColumbus Dispatchrecently revealed that Governor John Kasich’s Department of Administrative Services has been funneling high dollar contracts to colleagues of department officials. And they've been doing it without allowing others to bid on these contracts.
Does that seem like Ohioans are getting the best deal for their dollar to you? It doesn’t to me.
As a member of the Ohio Legislature, I fought to ensure every tax dollar was spent responsibly, with transparency, and on important services for Ohioans like providing quality public education, ensuring our roads and bridges are maintained, and making sure our seniors are taken care of after a lifetime of work.
But that’s not how the current state administration is spending our tax dollars. They’re trying to hide the fact that our tax dollars are being spent giving favors to friends.
