I have to tell you, I didn’t think I’d be this emotional about voting, but dammit, I ENTHUSIASTICALLY VOTED FOR HILLARY TODAY!!! I voted for the first woman president of the United States, and cried tears of pride and joy afterward!
I have never been so glad to be alive for any presidential election, despite our unworthy opponent being, as an 83 year-old African American woman I spoke to while phone banking said, “a shag-haired, racist, sexist, circus peanut pig.”
And there are many more like me early voting in our area of Ohio. I’ve voted early nearly every year since EV became available in Ohio, but I have never seen crowds at our county’s election board location like I saw today. I had to wait 15 minutes to vote, though there were at least 25 machines in the room. It was wonderful to see.
I’m afraid my decorum wasn’t at all de rigeur , as I may have startled the room when I gave a loud “WOO HOO” after telling the machine to record my historic vote. But more people smiled than frowned. Hillary voters, I suspect. :) As I exited the room, two beaming women gave me fist bumps and said, “You go, girl. You voted TODAY!”
Now it’s back to phone banking and GOTV for the most important election in my lifetime!
C’mon, OHIO, don’t let me down!! GO VOTE TODAY!
