OH-Sen: V.P. Joe Biden Jumps In To Help Strickland (D) Defeat Portman (R) & The Koch Brothers

Received this e-mail today from Vice President Joe Biden in support of Ted Strickland’s (D. OH0 U.S. Senate campaign:

You, me, Barack Obama, we have achieved so much progress together over the years.
Yet Senate Republicans have fought tooth and nail to block us at every turn.
Just this year, Senate Republicans have:

• Voted down commonsense gun safety measures.
• Tried again to cut funding for the Affordable Care Act and Planned Parenthood.
• Jeopardized the public’s health by failing to stop the spread of the Zika virus.
• Refused to do their job and give President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Merrick Garland, a fair hearing as required by the Constitution and Senate custom.

I’m truly disappointed in my Republican friends in Congress. This isn’t how our democracy is supposed to work. The number of ways they have found to shirk the basic responsibilities of their jobs is simply amazing. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to fight my heart out in this election to make sure the Senate actually does some work on behalf of the American people.
It’s time to take back the Senate. It’s time to elect a real progressive leader who will help us do it: my friend, TedStrickland of Ohio.

I’ve been to Ohio to help Ted -- so I know firsthand that he’s in the fight of his life. All the major polls show this race is tied. And the Koch brothers and their allies have spent over $30 million against Ted to tip the balance in their favor.

Let me tell you, Ted’s got Ohio values coursing through his veins. He is Ohio -- tough, resilient, compassionate, and always looking out for others. Always fighting to give the working folks a fair chance in life. He is exactly who we need fighting for us in the Senate.
