Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer (D. CA) on behalf of the Council For A Livable World:
During my 23 years in the Senate, it has meant the world to me to have the Council for a Livable World fighting by my side on so many critical national security challenges.
While I will never retire from working on the issues that unite us, as you know, I am not running for re-election. And I want to make sure that I leave the Senate in good hands—Democratic hands!
You and I know the truth: If we want sensible, progressive policies on national security, then Democrats must take back control of the Senate this year.
That all starts in Ohio, Illinois, and New Hampshire, where we must ensure that leaders like Ted Strickland, Tammy Duckworth, and Maggie Hassan have the resources needed to turn these red seats blue.
I know that the election might feel far away, but the right wing is already spending millions of dollars going after our candidates—and they need our help right now to fight back and win in November.
Remember: These are three states where we have the chance to oust Republican incumbents who do not stand with us, and elect amazing candidates who do.
Stand with me, stand up for these three progressives champions, and let’s keep standing—and keep fighting—until we take back the Senate.
