Pete Santilli, the man who’s been live streaming his Pete Santilli Show from the Oregon standoff at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon was recently was pulled over in the Cincinnati area for doing 20 mph in a 50 mph zone. Police said they believed he was texting and driving. But, when they ran his license, police initially indicated they got a hit on the terror watch list:
Newtown police pulled over Peter Santilli around 1:30 p.m. for texting and weaving his SUV at Little Run Road and State Route 32.
Federal authorities were contacted when the man’s name cross listed in a terror watch database, according to Newtown Police Chief Thomas Synan.
“It was a partial identifier that came back. That was enough to detain and confirm that it wasn’t. We were under the impression that maybe it was, but it’s not,” said Synan.
However, when the searched his car, they found an illegally concealed gun:
Synan said police found a loaded 9mm Smith and Wesson in a bag between the passenger's feet while searching the vehicle.
It's not unusual for people investigated during stops to lead to alerts on national lists, Synan said, but police were especially diligent as the loaded weapon was found.
He was charged for an illegally concealed gun and booked in Hamilton County. He took to a local news outlet to tell his side of the story, which of course mentioned the Constitution an untold number of times.
