Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. Received this e-mail today from former Governor Ted Strickland’s (D. OH) U.S. Senate campaign:
So goes Ohio, the saying goes.
And in 2016, that couldn't be more true when it comes to Democrats winning back the Senate.
TedStrickland must win this Senate race. For Ohio and the country.
Ted is a true fighter with a real shot at winning, and he's out there giving it his all for the people of Ohio.
But with recent polls showing Ted neck and neck with his opponent, Rob Portman...with the help of big spending by outside allies of up to $10.7 million to defeat Ted, we urgently need to step up to help him fend off these negative ads.
Ted's big end-of-month fundraising deadline is at midnight. Will you join me in supporting his campaign now?
As you may know, in 2008 I was the campaign manager for President Obama and Ted was an early and key supporter of Hillary. But I took note that when that tough primary was over, Ted worked as hard for President Obama as he did for Hillary. He worked his heart out to make sure that President Obama won in 2008. And again as a co-chair of President Obama's re-election campaign, Ted worked tirelessly to help win Ohio in 2012, and I immensely enjoyed spending time with him on the trail, as did the President. I campaigned with Ted on a bus for several days all around Ohio and I saw firsthand the connection that Ted has with the values that make Ohio and our country great.
Ted has an incredible 30 year track record of fighting for the people of Ohio. He cares deeply about making sure that everyone gets a fair shot in life. I know Ted will do amazing things as Senator and that is why I am proud to endorse his candidacy. Will you join me?
