I’ve been coming here less in recent weeks because, quite frankly, the news depresses me. And the news is ghastly for us here in Ohio.
We lost every single statewide office; we lost control of the one branch of the legislature we held and we even lost a couple of seats in a state senate already lopsided from radical gerrymandering. We lost an effective, practical governor, Ted Strickland, to a reckless, arrogant asshole who’s weeks from being sworn in and has already taken a giant step to destroying our economy (rejecting the passenger rail money Ohio was awarded, leaving us the densest population base with NO intercity passenger rail). We lost a brilliant, crusading attorney general, Richard Cordray, who was written up in the New York Times in October in an article titled “Ohio Attorney General Fights Against Wall Street.”
