I went to the Franklin County early voting site with my family today. Thousands of people were there to vote, and it looked as if 99% of those willing to stay out in the cold for an hour's wait, plus another 30 - 60 minutes inside, were there to cast their vote for President Barack Obama. Here are some photos from this afternoon:
There were dozens of Obama campaign volunteers working the line, handing out sample ballots for the Democratic Party, and talking to voters about the issues on this year's ballot. It was really similar to standing in line for one of the President's campaign rallies - that same energy of excitement was present today.
The only drawback was the conservative "Christian" hate-mongerers shouting about how the Democrats are murderers. Yes, of course, this is the pro-birth faction of the tea baggers. They claim they are pro-life, but it is really a pro-birth stance. If you want to reduce or prevent abortion all you have to do is to make sure that contraceptives are free or, at least, affordable and available. If these folks were truly pro-life they would not be against fair taxation and social services to provide food and health care to those in need.
The good news is that it seems as if Ohio is going to send all of its electoral votes Obama's way....
