I feel the need to highlight something. The recent voter ID laws and other suppression efforts across the country, as has been admitted by some, are specifically made to prevent black people, Latinos, and other minority groups from voting. It is racism. It is the dictionary definition of racism. This should not only make us upset at the electoral consequences, it should make us angry. I am angry.
These laws and efforts are institutionalized discrimination based on race. It is purposeful and it is beyond wrong.
This is not hyperbole. This is an organized effort, started years ago by Karl Rove as shown in the US Attorney scandal. The Republican party is no longer just arguing about policy differences. They know full well that they are trying to prevent people from voting based on the color of their skin. Beyond that, they are enforcing this through laws. They are corrupting the institution of government with racism.
I am tired of seeing all this political analysis on TV and radio of people politely talking about how this is going to affect the election. THIS IS RACISM, being instituted into our government. Show some anger!
